Consider Your Calling

For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to the flesh, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no flesh might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 1:26-31 ESV).

What more can I say?

Hey Penn!

I just thought how I really like your blog. It's lovely how much you absolutely treasure Jesus and aren't afraid/ashamed to live that out! What happened to you that made you change? What did the Lord do?

Meshay: Thank you for your comment and questions. It gives me great joy to know that you are encouraged by my blog. Jesus is my Life. I don't fit in this world anymore, so I am happy being totally and completely in Him.

I can't tell you everything the Lord did here in this comment, but I will tell you this: it was through reading the Bible that the Lord changed me. I grew up in Christianity, but God, in His Sovereign grace, drew me to the Bible and opened my heart up (Heb. 4:12) and convicted me of my sin (Rom. 1-3) and turned me with all my heart to Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior (John 6:37,44). My goal is to encourage others to trust in Christ alone through reading the holy Scriptures in the Bible. We need the Holy Spirit to cause us to be born again, then we will have a strong desire to understand His Word rightly. God bless.

RYC: "I am nothing, I can't even do a simple thing like draw breath without God's help."

I wasn't actually quoting someone else, those my words. But feel free to use it whenever you want!

CJ,
Ah, ha... yes I know those were your words, I just liked quoting them in my comment. Glad you put it on my blog now, maybe I'll use that phrase myself ;)

Thanks for your encouragement. My prayer today has been, 'Oh, that I may be lowly and walk with my God.'
